The privacy of our users matters. We're placing users in the driver's seat on all things related to their Cabin's privacy.

Open-source

There's nothing transparent about proprietary software. With Cabin, there are no secrets; we're building something for every human.

Algorithm-less

There are no manipulative algorithms. You'll see posts from your friends, circles, and tags you subscribe to. Nothing more.

Identifying misinformation

Cabin will leverage a combination of machine learning and community reports to identify and mark misinformation.

Zero-tolerance for hate

There is absolutely no tolerance for hate speech or abusive behavior on Cabin. No warnings—be a decent human.

Alternative monetization

We're exploring various monetization strategies, ranging from limited ads to premium Cabin upgrades.

When can I sign up?
You can join the waitlist now! We'll email you with updates as work on Cabin progresses.
Will Cabin be free?
Yep, Cabin will forever be free to use. We will naturally have to figure out a sustainable monetization strategy because apps like Cabin are expensive to maintain. We're currently exploring various monetization strategies.
Is Cabin similar to Facebook?
Cabin and Facebook are both social networks, but with fundamentally different approaches to operating. Cabin is fully transparent, and is an open source platform.
Will Cabin have mobile apps?
Cabin will be available on iOS, Android, and web.
Can I contribute to the development of Cabin?
Absolutely! Please get in touch with us and we'll respond to you within 24-48 hours. In the meantime, check out our GitHub and Discord server.
Circles
What is a Circle?
A circle is simply a group of Cabin users. Circles are a place for friends to share photos or videos of lived experiences, or to have meaningful conversations, or simply to remanence.
Can anyone create a Circle?
Any Cabin user can create a Circle at any time.
Do I have to pay to create a circle?
Never. Circles will always be free. That said, we may explore monetization in the form of power-up's (think Trello).

How does Cabin protect my data?
Cabin uses end-to-end encryption for all communications and stores minimal data necessary for operation. We are committed to privacy-first design.
